In November and December, IDEE collaborated with Edmonton youth for a transformative series of art workshops, featuring Hip Hop dance, Powwow dance, ceramics, collage, 2D/3D art, poetry, and songwriting. These workshops empowered youth to explore new art forms and develop original pieces that reflect their voices and identities.

On February 11, 2024, the Youth Art Gala brought these creations to life in a public showcase at the historic Great Western Saddlery Building. Curated by the youth themselves with support from IDEE and local mentors, the event was a vibrant mix of art and community spirit. Attendees enjoyed live performances by both the youth and Edmonton musicians, viewed diverse art exhibits, and shopped from local vendors.

This inclusive, accessible event highlighted youth leadership and the power of Edmonton’s creative community. Thank you to everyone who supported these young artists in their public debut!
